Ahead of the monsoon season, the Islamabad district administration has launched a city-wide preparedness campaign focused on drain cleaning, removal of encroachments along nullahs and a review of the federal capital's storm-water system.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has directed all assistant commissioners to file daily progress reports, with a particular focus on vulnerable sectors I-9, I-10 and the Korang Nullah corridor.
The drive comes as the Pakistan Meteorological Department warns of windstorms, dust storms and heavy rainfall across upper and central Pakistan between June 11 and 13.
